Two BCL Alum Selected to Team BC U16’s

Huge congratulations to Eli Barrett and Ashton Thornton on being selected to represent British Columbia at the U16 WHL Cup this fall in Red Deer, AB.

Eli and Ashton have grown up playing together at the BC Lightning since they were 6 years old. Eli wore the BCL jersey for six years and Ashton for five.

“I am extremely proud of these two kids, their dedication and focus on getting better each and every time they stepped on the ice since they were just 6 or 7 years old is inspiring. This past summer Ashton worked extremely hard on and off the ice, most days stopping pucks for both the IHD U20 and U18 development groups, as well as working out in the gym. Although I didn’t get a chance to work directly with Eli this past summer I know he also trained hard. Good luck boys, your BCL family will be watching and cheering you on.” said Coach Tim Preston.
