In addition to Spring Hockey teams, the BC Lightning are proud to offer exceptional year round hockey development to young athletes looking to take their game to the next level. Our partnership with Impact Hockey Development ensures that high quality and qualified skill coaches provide direction, correction and motivation to each and every athlete. Our programs are challenging and rewarding. Coaches will challenge players to push themselves and grow as a hockey player, all while encouraging the love for the game.

2018 DEVELOPMENT TEAM

The BC Lightning will be hosting TWO 2018 Development Teams for the 2024 Spring Season. This group will build the foundation for two full 2018 Spring Team for the 2025 Spring Season.
The program will focus on core skills and individual tactics to help these young hockey players develop and grow in a FUN environment. The group will be coached by BC Lightning head coaches.
Group #1 Wednesdays 4:00PM to 5:00PM at NHTC - Langley. (April 3 - June 5) - 10 sessions - SOLD OUT
Group #2 Wednesdays 5:00PM to 6:00PM at NHTC - Langley. (April 3 - June 5) - 10 sessions - SOLD OUT
Registration is $500 and will include professional coaching, insurance, a custom BCL jersey, player apparel kit and unlimited smiles and fun!

Fall and Winter Skill Development

For the 2018 to 2014 age groups we will be hosting weekly development sessions at NHTC - Langley through the Fall and Winter. We will be limiting the number of participants in each group to allow our coaches to provide feedback to each athlete on a more individual level. These sessions will focus on individual skill development and will be progressive week after week ensuring each athlete is challenged to meet their full potential in a fun and safe environment. Our program Director, Tim Preston and the coaching team from Impact Hockey Development are excited to work with these groups.

Fall and Winter Goalie Developent

The position of goaltender is not only the most physically, mentally and technically demanding position on a hockey team, quite frankly an argument can be made that it is the most important.
We have collaborated with Proformance Goalie Schools (PFGS) and designed a development program through the Fall and Winter 23/24. PFGS with their team of qualified instructors will ensure each goaltender is challenged to reach their individual potential through a progressive high performance training plan week after week.  This development group will be capped at 12 goalies and there will be one goalie coach per 3 goalies. Joey Ali along with his team of coaches will run these sessions as "High-Performance" development and will expect that each goaltender in attendance will put in their best effort at each session.
